The ROSAT View of Stellar Coronae
Abstract
The ROSAT mission has proven itself to be a cornucopia of new results for stellar X-ray astronomy. I will review the major new results, focussing especially on results which ROSAT has uniquely contributed to, and on the physical implications of these results. Among other topics, I will discuss X-ray emission from evolved stars, spectroscopy and structure of stellar coronae, and the general variation of stellar X-ray emission in the H-R diagram.
